Hump day

Shark week has arrived so I'm not sure what tomorrow's weigh in will be.  I've been good with eating the last two days, so we'll see.

I wish I knew how to accurately track calories burned while doing the weight machines because the only ones I log are the ones I burned from the elliptical.  I did the cross country setting again today and for some reason was slower than the last two workouts.  However, I was a sweaty mess and my face was bright red when I finished, hard to tell in the picture.

feel the burn

I felt the burn from today's workout and I loved every minute of it.  By this evening my legs and arms were aching.  I had to work hard because I knew I had an evening with friends planned.  I did great eating during the day so I didn't feel too guilty when I ate at our wine and pinterest craft night at my friend's house.

Yellow is NOT my color but I wore it in honor of my cousin Nolan

just for the heck of it.  I promise I'm not pregnant.  WTH?

Hot and sweaty!  <3 td="">

2013 Frostbite 5k

This was my 2nd annual Frostbite 5k, you can see my post from last year HERE.  The weather was in the 30's and much better road conditions.  I was smart and wore pants that I was used to and had no problems. Lyndsey's pain in her knee has been increasing and she is also going to PT.  I wasn't looking to beat any time, I was just there to get out and get moving.  Lyndsey was bummed that she couldn't go her normal speed but it was ok, I enjoyed getting to chat more!

Before the race we ran into another high school friend, Jenna.  She ran the race with her little boy, Kash in the stroller.

FTR: I hate this picture.  I look swollen or something?!

Not too bad?!

Proud

I am darn proud of myself! For 3 weeks straight I have stuck to my workout goal of 3 days a week. (The highlighted days are days I workers out.). It feels good, just wish the scale would reflect my hard work. :/

Impromptu workout

While we were eating dinner Ryan actually asked to go to the Y.  So we did!  Both boys were actually looking forward to going into the big kid room so it was kinda of nice.  As I was checking them in I ran into a friend I haven't seen in a while (except on facebook), it was a nice surprise.

I ended up choosing the Weight Loss program on the elliptical which is only 35 min.  It was a nice little challenge.  On the lower inclines I would pedal backwards and I can already feel the burn in my legs.  Not sure if it's from the squats or the elliptical.

Once I was finished, I hit the machines.  I did probably 8 of them and my arms are SORE!  I tend to stay away from the leg machines because I feel they get a good workout on the elliptical.  However, as I was walking out I saw the ones that work your inner thighs...just what I need!  It was tough but good for my thunder thighs!

Jelly Bean registration

Last night I registered for the 3rd annual jelly bean virtual race.  I participated last year and look forward to it again this year..  Interested?  You can find out more info and register HERE.  I love virtual races because you can do them on your own terms.

I've had a migraine off and on for the past two days.  I woke up with it again today so I opted not to do my workout.  Instead I did squats while drying my hair, probably about 15 min worth off and on.  We also went swimming again last night and I did leg exercises with the water aerobics class that was going on in the pool next to us.  I'm sure it wasn't a ton of calories that were burned but it was better than sitting on my butt, right?!  If I am feeling up to it I'll probably try to get some kind of a workout in tonight while I catch up on my shows I've missed.

Squats
I've been trying to be more conscience of what I'm eating to see if that's the reason for no weight loss.  Yesterday I had a yoplait greek yogurt with granola in it and a banana for breakfast.  A friend invited us to lunch at Carl's Jr so before ordering I looked at the nutritional info.  I decided to go with the street tacos and a side of beans for more protein and I stuck to water to drink.  The total amount of calories was 700 but that's better than the taco salad (800+ calories) that I normally got.  Baby steps right?!  I had plans of having a salad for dinner because I needed veggies but instead my hunger got the best of me and had frozen chicken fried rice, about 600 calories.  Not terrible but not the greatest food day either.

I have a 5k on Saturday that I'll probably just be walking with my friend and race partner, Lyndsey.  She still has a bum knee and not up for running but that's ok.  I'm looking forward to some girl time!  Then I'll get even more girl time at a baby shower for a friend afterwards.  fun times!

Golden Gate Bridge

The gym was less busy today but yet I saw 4 people that I know there.  Funny how that works!  I love people watching while I'm there.  I love that there is a wide variety of age groups at the Y.  I get a good little chuckle out of the girls that come to the gym all made up, to workout?!  As my friend said, they probably are single and looking to mingle.  LOL!

I love the elliptical!  I did forward and backwards today and enjoyed burning all of those 750 calories.  I listened to my Pandora station while watching TV.  However, once I saw that New Kids was on The View, I had to watch it.  It quickly took me back to my childhood and made me think of my BFF.  Turns out they're going to be touring with 98* and Boyz to Men.  *shriek* I might have to try and go!!!

New top from Old Navy.  I swear it's more flattering in person...or at least I hope?!

I hate this picture but I'm being real, people!
While I still question the accuracy of my fitbit, I love it.  I love the stats that it provides which helps keep me motivated.  here is the breakdown as of 7pm tonight.  I rocked it today!!!!  (minus the sleeping)
I knew last night was rough so this is just proof!

Most days my Sedentary hours consume over half of the graph.  Love seeing this!!!!

I exceeded each and every one of these today and climbed the Golden Gate Bridge.  Yeah!!!

I'm not sure why it showed I climbed so many flights of stairs today when I did the same elliptical workout on Friday and only climbed 38.  That's why I question the accuracy but oh well, I'll take it.  :)

Good day

I didn't get an actual workout in yesterday but ended up taking the boys swimming yesterday evening. We swam for 2 hours and had a lot of fun. It wasn't nonstop swimming but watching over two boys 6 and 2.5 (who thinks he's also 6) by myself in a large pool wasn't a relaxing time. When I was standing still I tried to twist side to side or run in place to keep moving. So I'm going to consider it a workout!

I hit the gym this morning as scheduled even though I was extremely tired! Man was it busy! Not sure if it was full of new people with new years resolutions or what.  I did the elliptical again today.  I actually like it better than the treadmill.  I had told myself when I started that I want to beat my calories burned and distance from my last workout and I did!  After the elliptical I did 4 different machines focused on my arms so I actually burned more calories than what shows.

Yikes!

Down a little bit but not as much as I was hoping/expecting

Yeah!

See the boob sweat again?!  And can you tell how red my face is?

Woo hoo!  By the end of the day I was  up to 38 floors climbed!

Flexible

One of the things that my therapist and I talk about almost every visit is how i Need to be easier on myself. I have planned to have my workouts on Mon, Wed and Fri. If I don't get in on those days then I'm disappointed in myself. However, I'm really working on more flexibility for myself and doing ok. This week is busy for me so I have to adjust my workouts.

I went out with a friend (she actually grew up with Jim and his family) that I don't get to see often on Saturday night for a little but I stayed out longer than I expected.  So when Sunday morning rolled around I was lazy and opted to visit a friend's baby girl instead.  I will be honest, I was still pretty sore!  Monday was plain crazy and left no room for a workout.  So today it was!

Had a fun time with Elizabeth despite the no shower and makeup.
Like I said, Elizabeth is a friend of Jim's family but I have gotten to know and LOVE her! Isn't she the cutest? I have always thought she was pretty since the moment I met her.  Little fact about Elizabeth, she used to be almost 100 lbs heavier!  She is a stay at home mom of 3 adorable little boys and has managed to lose almost 100 lbs!  She is an inspiration to me!

Normally I'd beat myself up that I didn't do what I said I was going to.  However, I'm learning to be more flexible with myself.  So I did my workout today, will probably do another one on Friday and then maybe on Saturday.

I loved today's workout.  The hour flew by and I burned awesome calories.

Can you see the boob sweat below my bra?!

Red, hot and sweaty!

Here I am talking about being flexible but while also being irritated.  I'm still doing the cleanse and have done pretty good.  I haven't been spot on like last time but probably doing it 80% the past few days, which they say is ok.  Well, I was down 3 lbs.  However, I weighed myself this morning and I am back to where I started.  WTF?!  I'm sure I'm building muscle but it can't be that much, I still have a lot of fat to lose.  It's so frustrating.  After I'm finished with all of my Advocare products I am going to be done with it.  It's too expensive to not see the results that they say or I expect.  I just think back to when I lost the weight before (in 2011/2012) and the only thing I really did was get my butt moving and watch and journal what I eat.  So I think after this cleanse/24 day challenge is done I'm going to reevaluate!

Side note: had to get a new pair of capris.  Both of my black pairs are starting to get holes on the inner thighs.  Wonder if I'll ever be at a point where my inner thighs don't rub?  Probably not!

50 miles

Love the little badges my fitbit gives me. I earned this one today!

Double whammy

Today I killed two birds with one stone. I burned calories AND got some vitamin D inside the gym! The sun was out and it felt great! I just wished I brought my glasses into the gym but I won't complain.

I was super sore from my Wednesday workout and PT (they introduced lunges exercises and I think I overdid it). My legs, butt and sides were SO sore especially after sitting for a while.  But once I got moving  things were ok.

I started with the treadmill and I was extra sweaty today, which felt great! I upped the incline which made it feel like more of a workout.

I after the treadmill I did two arm machines, 3 sets of ten and then did the same on the ab machine.  I'm looking forward to a rest day tomorrow.

Next week is SUPER busy for me so I might try to tackle the gym on Sunday because I'll miss Monday's workout.  I want to keep with my goal of 3 workouts a week so I'm hoping to go Sunday, Tues and Thur or Fri.

cross country

I got in another good workout. I had to take Ryan to the doctor before so I had to cut my time short a bit.

I did the elliptical and chose a different workout, cross country. It was great! I did about half my time going backwards. Wowsa, talk about feel the burn! I had to switch machines less than 10 min in because the first one wouldn't go down on the incline, the button was stuck. But once I got in the second we were good to go.

I then did two arm machines, I think I'll feel that tonight and tomorrow. I wanted to try more but as I was finishing they came and got me because Ryan had a dirty diaper. No worries, we had to go anyway. Friday I think I'll try the an machines, this stomach needs some major work!!

I'm on day three of the Advo.care challenge. Yesterday was a bit difficult and I caved and had some fried chicken but not much. It was all my fault and all because of poor planning. Today I'm pretty much back on track. Just had baked tilapia and roasted veggies for lunch. Yum!

Accomplished!

I didn't end up driving to the bus stop since the sleds were buried in the backyard. So when Ryan went down for a nap I went outside and shoveled our deck and somewhat of our driveway. The snow was heavy and I can feel it in my arms tonight.

I am about to hit the sack and want to share my accomplishment today. It may seem silly but I proudly hit all of my fitbit goals. Yeah!

I also did great with day 1 of the 24 day challenge. I do need to plan a little more and go to the grocery store but otherwise I'm good.

I am beat...a sign of a good day!

Back at it

We got 6.5 new inches of snow since yesterday and the roads are nasty but I made it ti the gym! Since its been a couple weeks I decided to do the treadmill. I had a good workout and look forward to going back on Wednesday!

Our neighbor kindly snow blowed out driveway but I still have to shovel off our deck. I'm also thinking we'll walk to the bus stop with the sled.

Lets do this

I was once again inspired by biggest loser tonight. Anyone else watch it? I threw away all the cookies that were taking up space on our counters to avoid any temptation. I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine tomorrow. I'm also going to start another Advo.care 24 day challenge or at least the 10 day cleanse (not letting the money go to waste).

I'm disgusted with my weight gain and how I let life get in the way of my health. I I worked way to hard before just to gain most of it back.

Let's do this! I'm up for a challenge if anyone wants to or knows of any?!

Busted

This is a bad sign! I NEED to get back on schedule. I'll be at the gym on Monday, no excuses!!

Slacker

I haven't been to the gym since I posted last and boy can I feel it! I got dressed to go today but then its Zack's late start day and I lose a half hour. PT has put somewhat of a kink in my schedule as well as the hubby being home. Jim leaves tomorrow so I will get back on schedule after he leaves.

I had my evaluation at PT yesterday an the therapist suggested I keep going. My neck and lower back are still out o line and I'm still very sore. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can go down from twice a week to once then eventually just at home exercises. I'm getting burnt out on going twice a week!!
