Chub rub

Both boys went with Jim's aunt for a few hours so I was able to have lunch by myself!  What?!  So since I was out I decided to go to Panda Express.  Probably not the best choice but I was proud of my selection.  I chose steamed brown rice and used it as an entree instead of the normal spot for the rice or noodles which is way bigger!  Then I chose the steamed veggies for the big portion where normally the rice/noodles go.  Then for the 2nd entree I chose the Kung Pao chicken because it was the lowest in points. I even managed to stay away from the cream cheese rangoons.  8O

Since Jim was home I decided to go for an evening walk.  I wanted to jog but my body wasn't feeling it...at all!  So I did a nice brisk walk.  I was surprised after my walk to see how much faster I am when I jog.  I thought I probably jog about what I walk but I was way off.

Beautiful evening
My biggest accomplishment today was going on a walk in SHORTS!  I have serious thunder thighs and get chub rub like you wouldn't believe!  So for me to do a brisk walk with shorts on is huge!!

Not the prettiest but I don't care!

Weekly Weigh In: week 12

This week has been tough as far as Weight Watchers goes.  I wasn't able to get a workout in at all.  We were super busy trying to get as much packed in to our 2nd to last week before school starts.  I ate Mongolian for dinner Monday night, Wednesday we ate dinner at a diner we've never been to (hamburger, fries and milk shake but I saved all my PP), Thur we visited family out of town and had Zips for dinner (more hamburgers and fries-again thought I was safe saving my PP) then Fri we went to the bar and watched the game with hubby's uncles and I had several beers, Saturday we went to dinner to celebrate Jim passing his CDL test, afterwards his brother came over with his family and we had more beer and then Sunday had a BBQ followed by an early Thanksgiving with Jim's family.  I can feel myself gaining weight just reading all of that!  I had a good idea that I was going to be up but it's still discouraging.  I really didn't do too bad since I just gained what I lost last week.  However, that means that I've been stuck for 3 weeks now.

So today I'm back to tracking and watching it.  This weekend is going to be another tough one.  Jim is working in town this week since the job he's on out of town is waiting on some things.  It's always tougher when he is home.  I'm trying hard to make good choices and drink LOTS of water!  Then this weekend is going to be tough with the long holiday.  I'm determined to get in more activity since he's home though.  The WW employee also said to increase my protein or change up what I'm eating for breakfast since I always have the same thing, everyday.  We'll see!

Weekly weigh in: week 11

Lyndsey wasn't able to go to the meeting tonight and since we had plans with my mom today I weighed in this morning.  Honestly, I like to weigh in in the mornings so I might be looking to change weigh in days/times.  We'll see.

I really debated on weighing in today or waiting and weighing in on Wednesdays since I usually weigh less on Wednesdays.  However, I bucked up and went!  I wasn't expecting a loss really.  I just wasn't feeling it. In fact, as I was driving to WW, I was praying for a loss...no joke!  My scale at home has been stuck on the same number pretty much.  However, I lost 1.8 lbs and was relieved!!!

I have to be honest, I'm nervous!.  Last time I really worked hard at my weight loos journey I did great and lost 15-17 lbs and then plateaued.  I am afraid that it's going to happen again.  Last time I was stuck at around 220 lbs and couldn't budge.  I DON'T want that to happen this time!  I have not tracked my food in about 3 weeks and in order to stay focused I know I need to get back to it.  I also know I need to up my fitness, I have lost some momentum with being busy trying to take advantage of every last minute of summer.

Weekly weigh in: week 10

I have been weighing myself almost daily.  I know that I shouldn't but it's a horrible habit of mine.  I thought for sure I was going to be up at WW but thankfully I maintained!

Hot Summer Night 5k

My friend Stella did the Hot Summer Nights 5k with me.  This was her first race and she rocked it!  I was sluggish and off my game (if I even have game?!).  Apparently I'm not used to running in 90* weather.  I walked way more than I normally do and was kinda disappointed even though I wasn't doing it to PR or anything.  I just was disappointed because I know I can do better.  Dang weather!

This picture is hard to tell but this is the last hill before finishing.  It's seriously a doozie!  We walked up it and I had to stop twice because I felt light headed and like I was going to faint and I wasn't even breathing heavy.

I've never been so glad to be done with a race...even running in the snow, slush and rain!  My Mapmyrun app said it was 3.65 mi which is off and makes me question all of my other runs.  see the proof that it was 90* at 7pm?!  WTF?!

HOT!!!!!

but we did it!
Afterwards we grabbed a cookie and headed over to Twigs for drinks and dinner.  I had the half chicken fajita salad and it was delicious!!!!  I had one bite of those bread triangles and that was it.

Despite the hot temps, it was a fun race!!!  Next Wednesday is supposed to be even hotter so I think I'm going to skip it.

Weekly Weigh In: week 9

Well, the leader of my Biggest.Loser fb group still hasn't posted the totals so I have no update.  However, I did see her last Thur and she said she's almost certain that I'm in the lead!

I weighed on my scale before going to WW and was at 224.8 so I felt ok going in to weigh in.  Thankfully there wasn't much of a difference in our scales and I weighed in at 224 lbs even for a 2.4 lb loss.  Phew, I was relieved!  I hit my 15 lb loss mark and got yet another 5 lb sticker for my book.  15 lbs!  That's three 5lb bags of sugar.

It feels good!  It feels good to know that I'm doing it on my own (and with a great amount of support from friends/family) and the healthy way.  I told two people tonight that this is the LAST time I join or actually rejoin WW.  I want this to be IT!  I do not want to gain the weight that I have worked hard to lose.  I know there will be gains and slip ups and I'm prepared for that.  It just feels good to see results when I'm working hard at it.

Say what?!

I am going to be participating in 3 5k's this month...say what?!

I just found this one on facebook and unfortunately missed last week's, the first of a series.  So on Wednesday I'll do the second one with my friend Stella and will also participate next week.

The week long 2,500 Mile Challenge is Aug 12-18! Get ready and let's destroy this challenge together!  Please join me!

Then at the end of the month I'm participating in the Get Moving NOW virtual 5k.  Busy month...can't wait!

Evening jog

Earned this little gem today, yay!

Ryan fell asleep on the floor before dinner.  So after Jim went to bed Zack and I headed out for a quick run around the park.  He was super excited which helped me!  He did a great job leading the way for the first lap.  Then on the second he got a bit distracted but still did great.

My pace car
It started to get dark and so he asked to go back home after a mile.  I was hoping to go more but am thankful he made us come home instead.

I did it again...I finished my run and saved my workout, or so I thought.  I went to put Zack's bike away and went back to my app and it didn't save my workout, completely gone!  So, I guessed on my time.  I'm pretty sure I remember seeing 16 min?!  Ugh, lesson learned...again!

I finished the evening with a Skinny Cow bar and Rookie Blue.

Goal Reward

To reward myself for hitting my 5% goal I have decided to order two new sports bras.  It was perfect timing too because last week the Moving.Comfort ones went on sale for half off on Zulily!  I ordered these two:

Moving Comfort
Twilight Endurance Racer Sports Bra - Women & Plus

Moving Comfort
White Maia Sports Bra - Women & Plus

Both were spoken of highly so I can't wait to try them for myself!  Although, looks like I'll have to wait a few weeks, estimated shipping date is 8/14.
