Feeling good

I woke up and weighed myself for my FB Biggest Loser weigh in day.  I was happy with my results!!!  I emailed the leader of the group and here's what she responded with: "You are amazing! I am going to post percentages and such tonight! Good work!".  I'm not sure if that means I'm in the lead or not, we shall see tonight.

The boys were still at my in laws house so after breakfast I laced up for another run.  It was beautiful out!  70*, sunshine plus a slight breeze...it was perfect.

I didn't have a set distance set in my mind, I just set out to run telling myself that I am getting skinnier.  LOL!  Well the motivation apparently worked, especially for the first mile!  I ran a 10:34 min/mile!!!!  I was beyond excited!  I'm pretty sure I said, "awesome" out loud!  I did another mile and then was almost out of water after another lap so I decided to call it quits.  Overall, I was super proud of my time!!!

Here were my splits:
1 mi = 10:34 min/mi
2 mi = 11:06 min/mi
2.38 mi = 11:11 min/mi

I headed back home with a smile on my face!!

Weekly weigh in: week 8

I saw this on Thursday before we headed out to go camping.  I haven't seen this number in a year.  I was excited!!!

We went camping this weekend and I didn't track at all.  It's hard when camping.  I tried my best to be good with food and drinks.  I only had a few drinks each day.  I had a few slip ups, had 2 hot dogs for lunch on Friday and then had 2 chimichangas for dinner on both Fri and Sat night.

I didn't have as much activity as I'd liked, even though my fitbit said I did.  Apparently it thinks I'm walking while 4 wheeling and I can't figure out how to stop it, other than taking it off.  Friday evening we rented a paddle boat and went around the whole lake.  I'm not sure how far it was but the paddle boat didn't work well and I'm pretty sure we paddled more than we really should have.  My legs started getting achy in the evening and the next morning my upper legs were so sore that I just wanted to stay in bed all day.

I did go for a walk on Sunday morning though but it was nothing strenuous.  So when we got home I knew I'd be up.  I weighed myself Sunday evening and it showed I was up 6 lbs!  I knew it had to be wrong.  So today I weighed myself and it showed I was up 4 lbs so I was extremely nervous!!

Lyndsey, Teory and I all went and were ALL hesitant about our weigh ins.  I was also nervous about how my morning weigh would affect my nightly weigh in.  Much to my surprise I lost .2 lbs!!  Phew, I will take it!
I am focusing on more workouts this week since both boys are in VBS.  Hoping for a bigger loss next week!

Running Mad 2013 Virtual Half Marathon!

The boys (yes both boys...hello 3 hours to MYSELF!) started VBS at Z's old preschool today.  Since it is so close we walked there.

I walked back home and got ready to hit the pavement for the Running Mad 2013 5k that I registered for.  I was looking forward to a run since it's been a week.  Got my water and phone and I was out the door.  I like running around our park in the mornings so that's where I headed again.  The sun was out and it was beautiful!  I did 2 miles and then had to stop to use the restroom.  I got distracted and ended up stopping for longer than I had planned.  I lost my momentum on the last mile.  I finished at VBS to check to see how Ryan was doing.

I saved my workout in MapMy.Run before entering the building.  I checked on Ryan, who was doing awesome, and then headed home to see my stats.  Only problem was...I couldn't find my run!!  For some reason it didn't save my info!  I was NOT happy!!!  I remembered the lady saying my first mile was 12:12 mi/min, my second mile was 12:08 and my third mile was 13 something so I estimated my time.  Even though my last mile was longer, I still did pretty good.

I registered for the 5k but when I was entering my run info I realized that I had done 13+ miles in July.  For this race you could register for a 5k, 10k or half marathon and you could complete it in one day or over a week/month.  I did the 5k that I registered for today but reported my half marathon time of 2 hours and 40 minutes, roughly.

It would be nice if I could actually do a half marathon but for now this is the best way I could do one!  Kinda fun!  I walked back to the church at noon to pick up the boys.  It's now 9pm and I have 15k steps on my fitbit and I'm beat!  :)

GOAL

I weighed in this morning since Mark and Lyndsey are camping and I had no sitter.  I lost 2.4 lbs and hit my 5% goal!!!  I didn't even realize it until tonight when I got home this evening.  I am stoked!  It feels good!  I ate like crap today though.  When we got home I made the rest of the cookies sitting in our fridge since my niece is here and I think I had 4 or 5 of them!  Tomorrow is a new day, right?!

these will be the death of me!
Love seeing these!

Pedometer

Week one of the FB Biggest Loser Pedometer challenge is complete!  I am not sure how the others compare(will find out soon) but I got in 72,026 steps on my fitbit.  I know I had more last Tuesday but I didn't wear my fitbit since we were at the lake.  Most days this week I got over 10k steps!  We have one more week of the challenge and I've challenged myself to increase my steps.  I'm determined to win a gift card!!!  :D

Weekly weigh in: week 6

I wasn't as nervous as I usually am to weigh in tonight.  I was slightly nervous because it is Shark Week which usually means a gain.  However, I LOST 1.8 lbs!  I will take it!!!  My total weight lost is 10.8 lbs and I'm only 1.2 lbs away from my first goal.  I'm really hoping I hit it next week!!!

This week we talked about eating at restaurants which was really helpful.  We've really been trying not to eat out as much but sometimes on the weekends we can't avoid it.  On Wednesday I'm going to go out with some friends so I'll be careful during the day so I can enjoy dinner and a few beers.  No Li Brewery is a local place and I can't find nutritional info online.  I'll have to see if they have it there or else use my best judgement.  Wish me luck!

Love morning runs!

Zack stayed at a friends house last night which was a nice break in boys fighting!  Jim wanted to go to Golden Corral this morning for breakfast and I declined.  I am not a huge breakfast fan and wouldn't get my money's worth and would be making bad choices so I opted to stay home and go for a run instead!  I enjoyed my cup of coffee in complete silence, something that never happens in my house!

I just went around our park which I'm beginning to like (in the morning when it's not busy).  I didn't have a certain agenda, just wanted to get out and move!  The sun was out and it was the perfect temp!

On my last run I used a Gatorade bottle with water in it to rehydrate.  I put it on a light post and a park worker threw it away.  So today I took my own water bottle and put it in a tree.  Kinda looked obscene, didn't it?!  ;)

I ended up doing over 3 miles and in my fastest time yet!! Consecutive 11 min miles, cool!   It felt good!

Compliment

I receieved my first weight loss compliment today.  I picked up the boys' friends that live down the street for a playdate this afternoon since we haven't seen them in weeks!  When I got to their door, their mom and my friend Jamie told me that I look thinner.  I was so thrown off that I wasn't even sure if I thanked her.  It was nice to hear that my efforts were noticed, at least by one person.  :)

Hot little run

I had full intentions of getting up early and going for a run when it was cool out.  However, 7am came too early and I hit snooze 4 times!  So I took zack to VBS and came back and after I set up out pool I headed out. My niece is still here so she and Ryan played in the little pool while I went.

It was hot out, 79*!  I didn't have a set amount of miles or time that I wanted to accomplish, I just needed to get some steps in for my challenge.

I did two laps around the park before a park worker came by and took my water bottle because he thought it was trash.  Grrrr!  So I decided to finish my lap then head home.  I finished with 2 miles exactly and was a sweaty mess!

Not the greatest time...dang heat!

Sweaty mess!

Inspiration

One of my goals is to lose enough weight to be able to wear a dress (not this short) with cowboy boots and actually have it look cute.

And if I were able to redo my wedding I would do something like this...

Why oh why wasn't Pinterest around when we got married 10 years ago?!  I feel cheated!

WW week 5

Thankfully I lost what I gained last week and then a bit more.  I'm happy, relieved and thankful!  It was tough having Jim home for 4.5 days and I struggled but I did it!  In our meeting we talked about what little change we're going to make for the upcoming week.  I chose to add more activity.  Starting tomorrow in my BL Challenge we're doing a pedometer challenge so it's perfect timing

My niece is staying the night with us, possibly more.  So tonight as they were playing I snuck off and got a 2 mile walk/jog in.  It was tough!  I much prefer to run in the morning!!  My legs were tight and sore and I felt like I was starting to get shin splits.  So I might try to do another in the morning before taking Zack to VBS, we'll see.

New beer!

I am a fan of Coors Light however at 4 PP a piece it's hard to drink it!  My mom introduced me to Miller 64 and at first I was a little hesitant.  I gave it a shot and surprisingly enough, I really like it!!  It tastes like a light beer, not watered down and best part is that it's only 2 PP!

Weekend wrap up

We ended up staying the night at my in law's house last night.  My MIL loves to make and serve food.  I tried to be good but felt like I overate.  She made cookies with the boys and I did only have 2 which is progress for me.  My downfall was the darn potato chips.  Ugh!  I did good with sticking with just a few beers and drinking water.  We spent yesterday and today at their "campsite" and at the house.  Anytime we were to go to the house I made sure I walked and didn't ride to increase my steps.  I was generally over 8000 steps every day this weekend.  Not bad!

Today I'm stocking up on my water intake just to be safe.  I WANT and need to have a smaller number on the scale at weigh in tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

Stars & stripes virtual 5k

I participated in the Stars & Stripes virtual 5k this morning.  It was beautiful out so I got my red, white and blue on and it the pavement!  I decided to stay close and just do it around our park.  I have never done that before and actually really liked doing it!  I did a combo of walking and jogging.  I was shocked and happy to see my time on my first mile, 11:49?!  The other two miles were slower but overall I was proud of my time.  I think that this is a PR for me!

Eating out

Last night the boys and I went to Chili's with a friend and her kids.  We had the kids eat free coupons and I chose my food wisely.  I knew we were going to dinner so I ate pretty light throughout the day.  I had quite a few PP left over so I chose the Santa Fe chicken salad which is delicious and had them add some shrimp for a total of 22 PP.  It was quite a bit but I didn't go over my points for the day with it.

Tonight Jim and I took the boys back to Chili's since it was the last day of the coupon and Jim got home close to dinner time.  This time I opted for the 6oz classic sirloin, lighter version with steamed broccoli.  It was only 6 PP so I opted to have beer with it too.  I was proud of my food choices!

Now, I'm a bit nervous about my food since Jim's home longer this week and with the holiday.  Tracking seems to be harder when he's home but I'm going to try my hardest!

Happy 4th everyone!

Wunderwoman update

Unfortunately I won't be participating in the Wunderwoman Triathlon that I spoke of before.  Lyndsey's mom isn't able to get it off of work so we won't be able to enter.  Maybe next year?!  So now I'm on the look out for a 5k for August to keep my streak going.

WW Week 4 weigh in

I stepped on the scale before leaving for weight watchers and saw that I was up and was not happy.  I went to WW and as I stepped on their scale I literally crossed my fingers.  Unfortunately that wasn't enough.  I was up 3.2 lbs and NOT happy!  I wanted to cry!!!!  Shit, I still want to cry...and just might.

I just don't get it, really I do not know what I did wrong.  It's not TOM yet.  I ate pretty much below my points Mon-Fri.  My eating wasn't horrible this weekend although I didn't track most of it.  I did have drinks this weekend but actually had more in weeks past and allowed myself to use my 40+ weekly points.  I didn't get as much water in today that I'd hoped for since we spent a majority of it at the pool.  Maybe it's water retention from the hot weather?!  I'm not sure.  Whatever it is, it sucks!

I realize that I'll have gains, I'm not perfect.  But in the past most of my gains are because I wasn't putting in the effort or not following the program.  I would've been ok with a 1 lb loss or so but 3.2 lbs?!  I wouldn't be so mad if I wasn't putting in the effort or following the program.  But I am so it doesn't seem fair.

I'm throwing a pity party today but tomorrow it's a new day.

I pulled out my trackers from when I was a member of WW before, 9 years ago.  The program has changed and the points are different but I'm so glad I saved these!  I am going to take a peek at what I was eating then as opposed to now and see if that will help me.

Ok, pity party is over.  Thanks for listening.
