Weekly Weigh In: Week 25

I got on the scale this morning and saw it was down so I decided to (cheat?) weigh in a day earlier than normal.  I was beyond relieved to see I was down 3.4 lbs!!!  I am back to my 20 lbs lost, just barely.  Now I need to keep going. 

Honestly, I'm not sure how it's possible.  I felt like I've over ate the past week.  I've had more sweets than I ever do as well as more alcohol. I only got one walk in last week due to the holiday and according to my fit bit results, my steps, distance and calories burned were down this week.  I'll take the loss though and hopefully it doesn't come back to bite me. 

I really hate this roller coaster but am not giving up!

Weekly Weigh in: week 24

I didn't want to go today but knew that I had to.  I skipped out last week and they'd be closed tomorrow so I knew I had to go today.  I was up on my scale at home (after being back down earlier this week) so I knew it wasn't going to be pretty.  Well...I gained.  It said I gained 2.2 lbs.  I am NOT happy!  In fact, I have been crying off and on since I left WW.  Shark week is finishing up and I can feel water retention in my hands but 2.2 lbs?!  I am SO close to throwing in the towel even though I know I shouldn't.

I am sure that going out on Sunday night with my mom for dinner (Mexican) and a concert didn't help.  But honestly, I accounted for it and was careful throughout the day because I knew I was going out. 

I am frustrated!  When I texted my mom to tell her and express my frustrations she told me to keep it up and not to give up.  To track diligently (which I know I should)  and to just get back on the wagon.  I know all of this and I am trying!  I just hate that I can't enjoy a beer with my husband in fear of gaining.  That I have to be careful of what I eat and drink in fear of gaining weight, period.  I hate that I can't eat what I want and not gain weight.  I am having a hard time staying on track since Jim's been home.  How come people can have their husbands home and still lose or maintain?  I hate that I have to look up the PPV before going to eat anywhere.  Sometimes I really hate the holidays!  I am already dreading tomorrow, although at my parents it's not as bad compared to Jim's family get togethers.  Tomorrow is turkey day and it revolves around food basically.  It is so easy for other people and they don't have to worry about it.  Even though I'm not tracking diligently, like I should be, I am well aware of what is going in my mouth. I don't often compare myself to others but dang it, why does it have to be a constant struggle for me?  I swear I can look at food and gain weight.

I have been increasing my activity in hopes of making things better and it's not working.  Why put in the effort then?  Trust me, I could be blogging, napping, cleaning my house or sewing while Ryan's at school instead of doing 3 miles at the mall.  I just don't get it. 

I am frustrated!  I have a migraine and am just having an overall bad day.  I am going to enjoy the time with my family tomorrow and try not to worry about food.  wish me luck!

Week wrap up

I was able to get to the mall all three days this week.  Tuesday I woke up extremely sore from the lunges!!!  We're talking, my muscles hurt to touch them!  In fact they still are sore today but I can actually touch them now.  I've never hurt for so long before.  Maybe I should've started out slow with lunges?!  ;)

Tuesday was a great day!  Ryan did awesome at drop off and school, the sun was out and I got in  good 3 miles!  Santa even walked with me for a bit.  :)


Today I got in another 3 miles.  The mall was a bit more busy so I was often dodging people. I did some stretching before we left but I think I should've done more.  My shin muscles were so sore and tight the first mile but then eased up and the rest of the walk was great.  I know that I need new shoes, in a bad way!  I just hate shoe shopping so I keep putting it off...

Weekly Weigh In: Week 24

I stepped on the scale this morning and saw a 2 lb gain from a few days ago and so I opted to skip weigh in.  I'm sure it has to do with Shark Week that is about to arrive.  I haven't skipped a single weigh in and and honestly felt guilty but I couldn't deal with seeing another gain.  It sets the mood for my whole day when I gain and I didn't want another bad day. 

 In fact, I'm getting super frustrated.  Jim came home on Oct 17 and I've gained almost every week since he's been home.  I'm trying to skinny meals up but something is not working.  I haven't been tracking like I should but I have a hard time calculating them for meals I make.  I've got to figure something out!!!

Lunges and weights

Today I decided to change things up.  First I attempted to go the opposite way than I normally walk but for some reason, I just couldn't do it.  I don't know why! LOL

Last week I saw some Stroller.Strides moms doing lunges down one of the hallways so I decided to try it too.  They had a stroller to hang on to which I think was probably easier, cheaters.  I did the length of the white tiles and got about 20-22 lunges in each time.  So that was definitely over 100 lunges!  My legs are feeling it!!!!
I also decided to use my wrist weights.  Phew!  I could definitely feel the weight after the first mile.  It felt good though.  I know I looked ridiculous!!!!

I weighed in today and thought I'd at least maintain but was hoping for a loss.  Didn't happen!  I gained .4 lbs.  I know it's not even a full pound but I'm still disappointed.  Grrrr

Thankful for the mall

I have been bummed lately that I haven't been able to get workouts in.  I love working out and really miss it.  I wish I could afford to still have the Y membership plus Weight.Watchers but I really can't see spending that much on myself, especially if I'm not seeing the results I want or should.
5 workouts in a month's time?!  This is NOT ok!


I had planned on mall walking today but then got asked to babysit so I wasn't sure I'd get in my walk.  However, she took an early nap which allowed me to walk while Ryan was at school.  It was stop and go since she kept throwing her toy or water cup every so often but I was still able to work up a sweat. Ellie did awesome in the stroller the whole time and I was so glad!

Weekly Weigh In: Week 22

I gained .2 pounds.  I know it's not a bad number to gain but I always hate and dread seeing a gain.  I'm starting to get discouraged.  I know I need to start tracking and make the time for it!!!  Why can't I do it though?  I want to lose weight so bad but it's so hard.  Jim is great about being supportive for the most part.  He tells me over and over how proud of me he is and how great I look.  But then when it comes to actions it's all out the window.  I am not blaming him at all, it's all me...I need self control.  I can't eat and drink like he does and expect to see results, it just isn't going to happen.  I have been cooking meals that aren't that bad and if there is something that is then I try to skinny it up.  We haven't been eating out much either. 

Why can I not get a handle on this?!

Mall walking

We woke up this morning to snow!  I decided instead of driving around in it while Ryan's at school that I'd go to the mall and walk.  And that I did!  I wasn't totally prepared.  I wore a sweatshirt in and really shouldn't have.  I was hot about half way through.  I tied it around my waist and it worked but was annoying.  Next time I will leave it in the car. 

I did just over 3 miles and it felt great.  I hope to get to the mall more often!  I think the other mall walkers enjoy my presence because it brings the average age down quite a bit.  ;)

My BFF rocks!

I recieved this sweet gift in the mail today from my BFF!  She knows how hard it is to lose weight, whether it be .2 lbs, 1 lb or 20 lbs.  I love that I have her support through this constant struggle.  She always is there for me.  She was so sweet and sent me a card and gift card to my fav coffee stand, Dutch.Bros.  Thank you SOOOO much Sarah!  Now it's going to be extra hard to keep losing with this bit of deliciousness!  ;)

Chocoholic Frolic 5k

Today was the Chocoholic Frolic 5k.  I've been watching the weather for days, hoping it would be nice.  NOPE!  I woke up to clouds and rain!  I got my raincoat and off I went.  I met up with my friends Tiffany, Stella and Hank. 


I'd rather do a 5k in snow than rain!  :(

 Let's do this...rain or shine!!!  The temp wasn't that bad it was just the darn rain, it wouldn't stop.
 The scenery was beautiful though!  I tweaked my back putting Ryan in his car seat the other day so my back was still a bit sore.  I decided not to do any running except some light jogging at the finish line.  However, keeping up with these three was tough but they were so kind and stuck it out with me.

 We finished in under an hour.  I forgot to use mapmyrun for the actual walk but I think the time was 50 something.  Afterwards they had a tent full of...you guessed it...Chocolate!!!  The goodies were delicious!

This was a fun 5k that benefited a great cause.  I'm looking forward to doing it next year and hopefully it will be better weather!  ;)

Weekly weigh in: week 21

I gained .8 lbs today which took away my 20 lbs.  I was already expecting a gain since it's shark week and honestly, I'm glad it's not even a pound.  Hopefully I'll get it back off next week.

2013 Pumpkin Pacer 5k

Lyndsey and I participated in the Pumpkin Pacer again this year.  We went on a costume cruise last night and I had more beers than I had planned.  So needless to say, I was thankful that we were walking instead of running.  It was chilly in a skirt but once we got moving it wasn't bad.  Kyleigh joined us too and did a great job.  It was nice to get out there and walk with one of my besties!!

Weekly Weigh In: Week 20

Well, I did it!!!!  I lost 1 lb and hit my 20 lbs like I was hoping for!  I was so relieved!  So I hit 20 lbs in week 20.  I'll take it!!!!

I switched my weigh in days to Thursday and it screwed up my app somehow.  I didn't miss any weigh ins even though it says I did. 

Goodbye 20 lbs! 

 

Next goal: lose 3.6 more lbs to hit my 10%

Transformation Tuesday

It's not a huge difference but I can definitely see it in my face.  My clothes fit better and I feel better.  I wish I had taken a full body shot before starting WW.  maybe I did?  I'll have to take a peek.

I am not posting this to brag or boast.  I am starting to feel discouraged and I'm hoping this will help.  I have the above picture on my fridge as a constant reminder.  It was a rushed morning and I didn't feel like I looked good but my goodness, I look old and icky!  I do not want to go back there again!

Weekly Weigh In: Week 19

I weighed in this morning at 220.4 which is a .4lb gain.  I'm not all bent out of shape about it but was hoping to hit my 20 lb loss.  Oh well, hopefully I'll get it next week.  I've got to figure something out because MY HUSBAND IS HOME!  He's been working in Texas for the last 4 weeks.  I'm glad to have him home but also nervous.  Wish me luck for next week!

Not looking back

We have all been sick for about a week now so I'm not sure how the scale is going to go on Thursday.  But I was looking at old pictures and what I do know is that I'll NEVER be this weight again!  I know I am 5 months postpartum but still!  Some days it doesn't seem like I've lost almost 20 lbs but looking at pictures like these make me realize that I have come a long away so far (but have another long way to go).

Upped activity



Last week was pure craziness!  There was one up side to it though, I upped my activity!  5 out of 7 days I had over 10k steps! 

Weekly Weigh in: week 18

I weighed in yesterday morning because I knew I was going to dinner and drinks with friends last night.  The scale was the lowest I've seen in a while so I was hoping it would reflect at WW too. 

Sure enough, it did!  I lost 2.4 lbs!  I was excited!  I was thrilled to be back on the losing scale but also bummed because I missed my 20lbs by .2 this time.  Ugh!  I didn't let it get me down, I'm planning to get it next week.  ;)

I was bad yesterday, hardly any activity, drank 2 margaritas (yum!) and ate too many beans and chips.  I was careful all day though and drank lots of water and a  low point lunch to hopefully offset it.  And now I have another boy with a fever so I don't see much but cuddling going on today.  ðŸ˜•

Party in Pink Zumbathon

This morning my mom, Natosha and I participated in the Party in Pink Zumbathon.  This was my second year doing it and we had a blast!!!

Z had a fever last night so I wasn't as prepared  this morning since I was tending to him all day yesterday.  But we already have plans for dressing up next year. 

This year there were 29 instructors and some crazy ones!  I am so out of the Zumba loop but I didn't do too bad.  I love all the love and support that breast cancer awareness receives from this event.  Plus it was some great girl time!

Race is on

At Zack's xcountry practice I raced a friends son who's in 6th grade and won!  We ran for about 1/4 mile and it was neck and neck for most of it.  Those young kids have some fast little legs!  I didn't expect to beat him at all!  During my childhood I hated any running in PE, I'm not a fast runner now at all but it felt like an accomplishment!

Weekly Weigh In: Week 16

I weighed in this morning and am happy to report that I lost 2 lbs!  I was hoping for more but I will gladly  take the loss!!!  I have been SO busy that I haven't had much time to focus on my fitness.  I have been trying to walk and/or jog during Zack's cross country since it's an easy way to get activity in.  Otherwise I get it while I'm (constantly) on the go.  My eating habits have been better since Jim left.  However, lately at night I've been craving salty foods.  Maybe it's because Shark Week is about to arrive?  Speaking of Shark Week, I'm hoping doesn't give me another gain on the scale.  I'm getting discouraged again and I hate that.  It also seems that my body plateaus at 220 or so and I hate that!  I think once I get past that number it will be ok but it's always hard!!!

Xcountry walk

Ryan was in quite the mood today and didn't want to walk by himself or play on the playground.  I spent most of xcountry carrying him or walking holding his hand, which is not an easy task.  I did end up getting in a 2 mile walk which felt good though.

Cross country practice

Zack is participating in cross country at his school.  He practices Tues, Wed and Thur every week until the end of October.  At practice the kids run/jog/walk for over an hour and try to get in as many laps as they can.  They have two scheduled meets (Oct 2nd and 16th) and then an all city meet that you have to qualify for.  Zack does pretty good at practice.  He has a few running partners and he is in constant motion the whole practice.  (Some kids try and sit out)  Ryan comes with too and the first few practices he ran with the school kids.  Today he tried running with me and I ended up walking most of it because holding on to his 3 year old hand is hard to do while jogging.  I love the exercise I get and what it teaches the kids!



We run laps around the school field.  Two laps is a mile and that's how much Zack will have to run in the meets but for practices they do more.  For some reason my app stopped and I had to restart it.
