Still here

I haven't been able to workout at the gym in over two weeks.  I did the 5k last weekend but that was only for less than an hour.  I have missed the gym!  However, we potty trained Ryan last week and didn't want to chance it.  Then this week Zack had conferences so he had early release all week 1.5 hr for Kindergartners is just plain stupid if you ask me!

I also haven't been feeling that well the last few days.  Monday (I think) I had a migraine and then one came back on Wednesday and hit hard and fast.  Thursday I started having tummy issues and had the cold chills.  My tummy issues continued through yesterday and into today.  I'm afraid to leave the house in fear that I won't be able to get to the restroom in time.  Ugh!  The weather is beautiful right now and I just want to be out in it!!

On a happier note, I weighed in on Thursday at 234.6 lbs which is down 1.4 lbs from last week.  After this tummy issue I have going on I'm sure I'll be down more.  ugh  I do find it interesting though how I haven't worked out in two weeks and have still lost weight.  However, when I was working out 3-4 times a week I wasn't.  I don't get it!

Next week is Spring Break and I will be getting back to it!

Two birds with one stone!

I completed my Jelly Bean Virtual 5k and Mead Marching Madness 5k today, killing two birds with one stone.  It was such a nice morning for it!  Lyndsey and I just walked it but enjoyed every minute of it.

I haven't been to the gym since Thursday.  I was going to go yesterday but we're on day 3 of potty training and didn't want to risk it.  So I had plans to go today but unfortunately I'm at home with a little boy who doesn't feel good.  :(

I had my Spark in the morning and was trying to get excited about a workout.  I started with the Elliptical doing the weight loss program for 33 min.  I had a hard time getting into it but then got the groove and debated on going longer.

I then did the bike for 12 min so I could hit 100 calories.  I upped the resistance more than normal and could definitely feel it!!!

My legs felt like jello after my workout...I think it's just cruel that the workout area is upstairs and after working out I have to walk down these puppies with sore legs!

Looks like I'm going to be watching Ellie on Monday's for a while now.  So I'm going to have to switch my Monday workout day.  No biggie!  (see, I'm being flexible)  Got to the gym this morning with my Spark, even thought I have a full day planned.

We quickly ran to Cotsco to get a few things and was surprised to see a million people there...on a Tuesday?!  I hurried and then dropped the boys off at the neighbor's house so I could go to my therapy appt.  Lots of tears today, which doesn't usually happen but I think it will be good.

After my session I checked my emails to find this.  How on earth does Map.My.Run know about my workout today?  This is the first one I've gotten like this.  I added the amounts up and came to 521 calories burned so it wasn't far off.  But seriously?!  It's a little creepy!!!

Sunshiny walk!

I watched baby Ellie again today like last Monday.  So no gym for me today.  The day started out kinda foggy.  However, about 10am the fog lifted.  Shortly after that I decided to load the kids up and go for a walk.  I put Ellie in the Moby Wrap and Ryan in the stroller.  We walked to Lyndsey's house (Ellie's aunt) to visit her while she was on lunch.  Then we walked to Zack's bus stop.  He decided to go to Addy's house to play so Ryan, Ellie and I walked over to the park to burn off some energy!  Ellie slept through all of it!  I worked up quite the sweat packing her around and pushing the stroller.  I don't know how many calories I burned but it was nice to get out and enjoy some of the sunshine!!!

Sigh of relief

Yesterday I did have a major freak out and break down.  I honestly didn't think a 2 lb gain in one week was possible with my efforts, I just didn't understand it.  So before getting in the shower today, several hours after waking, I got on the scale again and gladly saw 235.4 lbs.  That makes it a .6 lb loss.  I will take that!  I think it's a bit more realistic than the 2 lb gain.  It might have been more if I had weighed in once I woke up but I didn't think about it.

I've thought about my efforts and am proud of myself for what I've done, especially while my husband's been home.  I am going to focus more on adding more protein and having two small snacks in between meals in addition to portion control to see if that helps.  Once I get back on track with that then I'm going to try my best at cutting out the bad carbs and just stick to meat, veggies and fruits.

Stepped on the scale this morning and saw 238, a 2 lb gain!  I have been on the verge of tears all day.  Why bother putting in all the work when it's not showing?!  I constantly get, "maybe you're gaining muscle?"  I call BS!  I would believe it if I didn't have so much FAT to get rid of!  Shouldn't I be shedding fat before I gain muscle?  I don't want to gain muscle at this time, later yes but now I want to shed the fat.  WTF?!  I like to work out, it (normally) makes me feel better.  It's something for ME and I really don't want to give it up.

My eating hasn't been horrible either.  The weekends are tougher since Jim's been home but nothing that would cause me to gain 2 lbs in a week!  I have had to make dinners since Jim's home but I try to skinny it up as much as I can.  I have also been working on portion control and have been proud of my efforts.

I decided to not workout as much today to see if that will help.  I did the weight loss program on the elliptical which is 33 min then did the bike for 15 min.

I'm at a loss (not on the scale though) so I may be doing some research this weekend.  Any advice or tips are appreciated!

On another note.  Does anyone else get splotches on their legs after working out?  I do, everytime and I'm not sure why.

Gym buddy

Taryn finally met with me at the gym this morning.  She hasn't gone nearly as often as I have so I'm more of a coach to her then she is help to me.  But that's ok!  I'm sure in a way it's also pushing me.  It's kind of nice to have a gym buddy once in a while but I kind of prefer to do my own thing.

I just stuck to the elliptical today.  I did 10 min on the first one while she was on the treadmill.  Then we switched to ellipticals that were next to each other.  Felt good to get all those calories burned!

Rough day!

Ryan was on day 3 of no nap today.  We've been so busy that a nap just wasn't in the cards.  We played with friends today at BK and then at our house and he was a brat when we got home!  Not just him though, Zack was just as much of a brat and they would NOT stop fighting!!!!  So I texted Jim when he got off of work and said I want to go to the gym after dinner to burn off some steam.  And that I did!

I had a harder time getting going and less energy but after a day like today it's to be expected!

Weekly weigh in

There were 28 days in February and I worked out over half of them (15 to be exact)! I even did 4 straight days t the gym this week. It feels good to know I accomplished that!!

However, unfortunately I had a 1 lb gain which I'm thinking is from all this bloating (thank shark week). So anxious to see what next week brings.
