Reward 5k?

My friend Chrissy (the half marathon runner) asked if I had signed up to run a 5k after my training is done.  I told her I hadn’t because I hadn’t found one yet.  But honestly, I’m scared.  Plain and simple.  But I also didn’t expect to be where I am today either.  SO…my training ends on Oct 21st and I think I will sign up for the Pumpkin Pacer on Oct 29th.  That will give me a week in between to give me some cushion in case I have to repeat a day or two.  It is a costume race and I’m kinda excited!!!  I haven’t decided if I want to do it with someone or by myself.  What if I don’t go the same speed as the other person?  What if I hold them back? 

What if they hold me back? (ha!)  What do you prefer, to run by yourself or with someone else?

  1. I have ALWAYS preferred to do any sort of exercise by myself. It's my time, and while it is nice now and then to have someone to talk to, I like to be by myself in my own brain.

    I think the costume race sounds fun. Just do something simple so it doesn't get in your way! And I'd suggest you don't worry about someone else's pace. You start off together, go your own pace, and find each other at the end again.
