Holy shin splints

I have horrible shin splints!!!  I looked at my (new) shoes and definitely see why I have them.  OUCH!!!  Looks like I am in need of another pair of running shoes.  I guess it was seven months ago (and many many miles) that I got them but it seems like just yesterday.  Anyone have a suggestion for some good reasonably priced tennis shoes?

How often do you get new shoes?
