Week 3 weigh in

I stepped on the scale this morning and was completely surprised to see I was out of the 230’s!!!  I lost 3.6 lbs and weighed in at 229.8 lbs!!!  I was in shock, to say the least.  So total now I’ve lost 7.2 lbs and a total of 3.04% weight loss.  I’m going to keep trekking and maybe I’ll win the challenge.  I’m not doing it to win though, I’m doing it to feel better.  Not everyone has posted their totals yet for this week but I think I’m ahead of the rest.  I have lost all of my baby weight am now back to where I was after having Ryan. 

Like I said, though the more you weigh the more you lose.  I mentioned to my mom last night that my grandpa’s wedding band doesn’t feel as snug as it used to which is a nice feeling. I can feel it in my jeans already which is also a nice incentive!

Exercise

I’m having a hard time incorporating exercise into my weight loss adventure.  I’ve been getting some but want more of a consistency.  It’s hard with two kiddos.  (good excuse, right?!)  I’d love to be able to do the Z.umba class with my mom two times a week but with no daycare, it’s not feasible.  One day last week it was nice so we took two walks, for a total of about 2 miles.  The only problem with our walks is that it is with a little one with small legs that don’t go very fast.  Our last walk for the day I did get somewhat of a work out as I had Zack in the stroller and Ryan on my back.

I did however, mow our front and back yard yesterday while Ryan was taking his morning nap. I don’t know how to run our riding mower so I used our push mower which is not self propelled.  It was a nice work out.

I’m not a huge fan of the treadmill, I get easily distracted.  I do have some Jillian.Michaels videos that I need to break out again, as well as the 30.day Shred but I need some motivation and accountability to keep me on track with those.  The boys go to bed at 8pm so ideally I could work out then but with Jim gone I feel completely exhausted and just want to relax after they’ve gone to bed.  Help!

Week 2 weigh in

This week has been tough.  Last week I felt like I had a lot of physical activity just in the few days we were in Seattle.  I did an ok job of eating.  This week I constantly felt like I was hungry.  I had a few days and times of binging.  Mother’s Day we had Mongolian BBQ which is a lot of sodium.  I weighed myself this morning (like normal) and had gained .4 lbs.  I drank a TON of water today and even went on two walks with the boys probably totaling 2 miles.  So I decided to weigh myself this evening to see if that combo helped at all and it seemed to have, I lost 1.2 lbs!  Wish me luck for this upcoming week.

Zumba

In an effort to get some exercise in this week I took the boys with me to Zumba.  My plan was to do the 6pm class and have my niece watch them in the hallway while I did the class.  Ryan fell asleep on our way to the Valley since he hadn’t had a nap in the afternoon.  I had to wake him up when we got there, fed him quickly and then handed him off to Maddie.  He seemed fine.  Zack was all set up in the hallway with his DVD player and was glued to the screen.  I started the class, got about 20 min into it before my mom said that Maddie needed something.  Ryan had been crying the entire time!  I picked him up and he clung to me.  Every time I tried to put him down he’d start crying.  So I did a few songs while holding him in the hallway, just shaking my bottom half.  He seemed to “wake up” and let me put him down for a minute or so at a time.  He seemed to like the songs and mimicked the dancing for some of it.  I didn’t feel like I got that much of a work out but some is better than none, right?!

6 week challenge

I have joined a FB group that a friend created called the Biggest Loser Spokane (6 week challenge).  To enter the contest we had to buy a $10 gift card so at the end, for the prize, the winner will be by total percentage of weight lost.  I’m sure I have an advantage over the others since I think I am larger than the others.  Although, I don’t know everyone in the group so I can’t be 100% certain.  It started on April 26th and will end June 7th.  So far I have focused on portion control and paying attention to what I am eating.  I haven’t counted points or calories yet, just being aware of what is going in my mouth.  I did quite a bit of walking/hiking up hills while in Seattle but also didn’t eat that great either, hard to do while on vacation.  My weigh in days are on Tuesdays but since we were on our way home from Seattle I weighed in yesterday.  The first week I lost 2.4 lbs and 1.01% weight loss!!  It feels good to be losing again.  Wish me luck, I hope to keep it up.

I’m back

I had my 2 week post-partum check up today.  I weighed in at 230.6 which means I lost 31 lbs and am less than what I started my pregnancy out at!  It feels good.

I plan to get back on the WW band wagon.  I am going to start out slowly and probably won’t do weigh ins until I get comfortable with life with 2 little boys.

Still here

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am not dieting while pregnant as it's not recommended.  However, I am watching what I eat some what.  Total so far this pregnancy I've only gained 5lbs.   I still eat fast foods, I don't think I could ever give that up, but I don't upsize or over indulge.  Because of my work schedule I eat the Smart Ones or Lean Pockets for dinner during the week.  With each pregnancy I have found that I get faster quicker which means many small meals for me, so I think that helps too.  I'm hoping not to gain more than 15 lbs this pregnancy but we'll see, I still have 8.5 more weeks to go.  Then I'm hoping that the pounds I gained will come off easier after the baby is born.

After little Ryan is born I plan on starting Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred since I never got to start it before I got pregnant.  This is of course after the doctor gives me the OK.
