First Spring Run

The weather has been crappy here lately, lots of rain and wind. After lunch I realized it wasn't raining or windy and actually a decent temp (57*) so we headed out for a jog!!

Zack decided he was going to ride his bike.  I was a little unsure if he could do it but he did!!!  I bundled Ryan up and off we went.

I ran the first 15 minutes solid.  Then Zack almost hit a curb and I had to stop.  At our half way point two uhaul trucks were pulling out so Zack stopped and this friendly dog came over to visit.

 We said our goodbyes to the dog and we were off again.  Zack was starting to get tired at this point and started slowing down. 
An actual running photo.  I had to pull my headband off my hair because it kept slipping back.  I need one that doesn't move.  Any suggestions?

This is towards the end when Zack as starting to slow down.  I noticed I ran much faster when he was ahead of me rather than riding right next to me.

It felt great to get outside again!!!!  If I didn't have the boys with me then I would've kept on going.  I can't wait for the weather to get nicer and we can get outside more often!

I'm half way through my Nutritional Cleanse.  I don't have the increase of energy like everyone says but I do feel a bit better.  Today is the start of shark week so I'm wondering if I would've lost more had I not started today.  I'm not going to dwell on it, I'll take what I got.  I'm  hoping to see the numbers drop next week too!


I signed up to do the 2nd annual Jelly Bean Virtual Race.  This will be my first time and I'm kind of excited. I've only done one virtual run in the past and it was nice because I could do it when and where I wanted and NO sign up fees!  Click here to sign up FOR FREE and you get to pick your race. Space and cleansing

Dear skinny Jr High dance girl next to me at Zumba,

You really pissed me off tonight!  You are lucky that I didn't knock you out with my big hips or toning sticks! Give me some freaking space so that I can actually extend my arms or move for that fact.  Good for you for being able to bounce around and do the splits, I don't care!  All I ask is for you and your little snotty friend to move over or up a little so that I can actually workout without worrying about if I'm going to run you over or hit you.  On second thought, maybe I should just do that?!  I'm more than twice your size so I'm sure it won't feel good.  So, how about you give me some freaking space.  Ok?  Ok!

Good God, the girl was driving me nuts tonight.  It threw my whole workout off.  The girl comes with her mom who stands behind her.  Why can't she tell her to move up a bit so we all have more space?  Why can't the other girl go back to where her mom is working out?!  As if their skinny little bodies aren't enough to piss me off, they have to go and mess up my freaking work out (I'm the one that needs it, not them)?  bitches!

So, on another note...my first cleanse day is tomorrow.  It was supposed to be Thursday but since that's a Zum.ba day, I switched it to Wednesday.  I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous!  It consists of four 4 oz drinks and eating 6 almonds, an apple or celery every 2-3 hours.  I plan on going to bed early to try to avoid late night cravings.  Wish me luck!

So far the program has been going pretty well.  The first day was rough but thankfully my mom came over to stay the weekend.  She helped me keep on track which is just what I needed.  I weighed myself on Saturday morning and was surprised to see that I was down 1.6 lbs!  Then we went to Mongolian for dinner that night and I'm sure I gained it all back.  LOL  I over ate and knew it as soon as I started my second plate.  I still struggle with cravings a bit.  I've snacked on girl.scout cookies and probably shouldn't have.  Today I mixed it up and decided to eat a lunch and have a bar for dinner since I was going to Zum.ba.  I think I needed the extra calories at dinnertime because when I got home from Zum.ba I was starving.  I had a beer, some turkey pepperonis and a string cheese but it didn't do anything.  Grr.  I've noticed that come 11pm or so, I'm tired and ready for bed.  I've been having a cup of coffee in the morning before breakfast but probably could do without it, I think it's more out of habit.  I'm looking forward to seeing what the scale says on Friday.

Spring walk

It reached the 60's today (heat wave) and had sunshine all day!!!  We had a birthday party from noon to 2pm.  As I was driving home in the beautiful sunshine I got the itch to get out and walk.  So while Ryan was napping I pulled the stroller out from under the stairs and aired up the tires.  I made plans with my friend Lyndsey to drop Zack off at their house so Zack could play with Kyleigh and we'd take Ryan on our walk.

My neighbor's daughter is in town for a while and she has a very adorable 14 month old little girl, Ayla.  She noticed we were going for a walk and asked if she could join us.  So her, Ayla and their dog Lucy joined us.  Zack rode his bike to Lyndsey's and we picked her and her dog, Rocky up.

Ryan and Ayla rode in the stroller and did pretty darn good.  They shared a snack and enjoyed the scenery.  It was pretty stinking cute!


We ended up doing 2.58 miles and it felt great to get out!  I wish today's weather was here to stay but I'm afraid to say it's supposed to rain the rest of the week.  :/  Oh sunshine, I can't wait to see you again!!

I'm not surprised really.  Our weekend getaway consisted of LOTS of bloody mary's, green beer and unhealthy food.  (But WELL worth it!)  I tried my best once we got home but apparently I didn't do the best job.




So today I've decided to do a 2 week Isagen.ix cleanse.  I was too nervous to do the 30 day so we fixed up a plan that will last two weeks and consists of just two actual cleanse days.  I'm excited to start the plan, start seeing results and feeling better overall.

I made it to Zum.ba last night and it felt good to be back.  I could tell I hadn't been in a little over a week, I was struggling on a few songs.  But I made it and even managed to use the toning sticks the whole time.

Grrr!  I'm not going to pout for long because tomorrow the hubby and are I off to a romantic getaway for the night.  Ok, not totally but we are going away for the night.  We're headed to Montana to stay at a resort that has natural hot spring pools.  I'm not going to be counting calories since we're on "vacation" for the night.  We'll return on Sunday sometime and then it will be back to watching what I eat on Monday.

To be honest, I haven't tracked my food since 03.09.12.  I was only able to do Zumba on Tuesday this week and next week looks like I"ll only get to do it on Thursday.  It gets frustrating putting in the work and not seeing results.  However, I have to do it.  So when Jim leaves then I'll get back on track.

Size 3

On Friday I went to the mall to pick up a few things while my mom stayed here with the boys.  She asked me if I'd pick up a pair of jeans for her.  I chuckled.  You see, my mom is maybe 110 lbs and wears a size 3.  Desperate to get out by myself, I agreed.

I found her pair of jeans and went to the register.  The tiny Asian lady was on the phone and I handed her the jeans.  She looked up, phone still on her shoulder and said, "size 3?  size 3?!" with a puzzled look on her face.  I told her that they weren't for me.  She got off the phone and rang up the jeans.  As she handed me the receipt she then asked, "they for your daughter?"  I didn't expect that one.  I replied with, "no, they're for my MOM.  Not really fair is it?!"  (Not that she'd get it because she was also probably a size 3.)  She then said something that I couldn't understand and explained their return policy. 

I knew it was coming, I told my mom before going that it wouldn't look right.  I wasn't offended but I thought it was pretty brave on her part and got a chuckle out of it when I told my mom when I got home.

I decided not to do the St Patty Five.  The weather is calling for rain the whole day so Lyndsey and I decided we didn't want to do that again.  Next race is Race for the Cure!

Good day

Today was a good day:
  • Sunshine ALL DAY LONG!
  • Finished and mailed out a gift for a friend's baby that was born in January (better late than never, right?!)
  • 3.5 hour lunch playdate with good friends. 
  • Ordered new shoes.
  • Got some house cleaning done.
  • Zumba!!!
  • Reached all bodybugg goals for the day:
    • As of right now burned 2907 calories
    • Consumed 2100 calories, with Burger King for lunch!
    • 10,602 steps taken
    • 1:16 of moderate activity

New Shoes

I returned my new shoes I got because they were too big.  I got these pretty things instead.  I love that they are mostly dark colors instead of white.

Then today on a deal website I follow I saw these and decided to get them too.  I’ve been wanting to try Skeleton shoes out for a while now.  If I like them then I’ll save them just for running and use the others for Zum.ba and whatever.  Have you tried shoes like these?  Do you like them?

Well, apparently cutting off all that hair didn't amount to a lot of weight.  I was mad with my weigh in today and was/have been pouting.  I am going in the WRONG direction!  Then I used the restroom just a bit ago and found out that it's the start of shark week...early!  So that may be the reason for my gain.  I have been eating within my calorie range and most day burning 2700 calories, some days more.  It's beyond frustrating!  So I'm hoping next week shows a loss!

Last chance workout

Our normal instructor is out of town so we had a helper instructor, Tika again today.  I love our Zum.ba instructor but for some reason when Tika leads it then I burn more calories.  I ended up burning 630 calories and could feel it!  I was trying to workout hard like a last chance workout, hoping it will help in tomorrow's weigh in.

I can't put my hair in an actual pony tail anymore, this is as good as it gets.  I have naturally curly hair so when my hair gets wet and I get sweaty my hair starts to curl.  It's lovely...not really!
